Are you a young filmmaker with a passion for storytelling? The Filmoteca de Navarra, in collaboration with the European Youth Card, invites you to take part in the second edition of its short film competition, a unique opportunity to showcase your talent and creativity.
This initiative aims to inspire young people to express themselves through film, encouraging original and high-quality productions that reflect their perspectives and experiences. Participants are free to explore any theme, telling their stories in their own voices and through their own artistic vision.
1. Objective of the competition
The competition seeks to encourage creativity and artistic expression among young people through the audiovisual medium, promoting the production of original and high-quality short films.
2. Theme
The theme of the short films is open. Entries will be evaluated based on:
- Creativity and originality of the idea
- Participation of young people in both the artistic and technical teams
3. Participants
- Open to young people aged 14 to 30, individually or in teams
- No restrictions on nationality or residence
- The director of the short film must hold a European Youth Card and be the one to complete the registration
4. Duration of the short film
Short films must last between 1 and 10 minutes, including credits. Films exceeding this limit will not be accepted.
5. Presentation format
- Digital format required
- Minimum resolution: 1080p
- Accepted file types: MP4 or MOV
- Films in any language are accepted, but those not in Spanish must include spanish subtitles

7. Registration process
Registration is done through the form on the Youth Card website of the Navarre Youth Institute, which includes the download link for materials to send to the Navarre Film Library. Click here to access the form. Itβs in Spanish, but you can translate it in your browser or complete it in English.
8. Evaluation and selection
A panel of film experts will assess the short films based on:
- Creativity and originality
- Technical quality (photography, sound, editing, etc.)
- Narrative and script
- Emotional impact

π₯ Second Prize for Best Short Film: β¬400
π₯ Prize for Best Navarrese Short Film*: β¬350
π Best Performance Prize**: β¬300
πΈ Best Photography Prize**: β¬300
π΅ Best Original Music Prize**: β¬300
* The βBest Navarrese Short Filmβ award will only be granted if one of the two main prizes has not been won.
** The prizes for Best Performance, Best Photography, and Best Original Music will be awarded to young people up to the age of 30.
10. Copyright
Participants retain all copyrights to their short films.
By registering for the competition, they grant the Navarre Film Library the right to:
- Exhibit the short films as part of its programming (events related to the competition)
- Keep a copy in the Film Library Archive
The Navarre Youth Institute may also exhibit the films in its own initiatives that promote this type of project.
11. Acceptance of the rules
Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of all the rules and conditions established in these regulations.
12. Final provisions
The organising committee reserves the right to resolve any situations not foreseen in these regulations. Its decision will be final and not subject to appeal.
