The Central Museum of Textiles in Lodz is the Europe's largest museum dedicated to textiles and all aspects of textile technology and one of the most comprehensive of its kind. Its exceedingly rich and varied collections make the Museum an extraordinary, interdisciplinary place combining technology and industry, art, design, fashion, history of the region and cultural anthropology. The Museum collections and educational activities are concerned with all the aspects of textile production, from the fibres used, through various textile techniques and technologies to the final textile products in various degrees processing. The visitors can virtually experience selected exhibits, learn the history of textile industry, the White Factory and Geyer family – which hides numerous secrets. You can appreciate various types of fabrics and weaves as well as outfits used in the 19th and 20th century. A functioning steam engine, jacquards and mule given life thanks to modern technology are also on display. While walking along the elements related to textile industry, visitors can move back in time to the industrial Lodz. Apart from permanent exhibitions the Museum also offers a wide range of educational workshops, conferences and temporary exhibitions dedicated to fashion and design. Since 1972 the Muzeum has been regularly organizing a prestigious exhibition event, International Triennial of Tapestry, the world oldest and largest international exhibition promoting the art of contemporary tapestry. Opening hours: Monday - closed Tuesday- closed Wednesday - from 12.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. Thursday – Saturday - from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday - from 12.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Godziny otwarcia: Muzeum oraz Łódzki Park Kultury Miejskiej są czynne dla zwiedzających w dniach: Poniedziałek – nieczynne Wtorek – nieczynne Środa w godz. 12.00-17.00 Czwartek-sobota w godz. 12.00-19.00 Niedziela w godz. 12.00-17.00 W środy wstęp na wystawy stałe jest bezpłatny.
