I. Competition Rules
Participants
- Any person who holds a valid European Youth Card and an account on the myEYC app at the time of competition and fulfils the competition tasks as described in the publication is a valid entry.
- EYCA undertakes to respect the principle of non-discrimination based on sex, gender, religion, political opinions, race or ethnicity.
Participation
- Any young artist (amateur or professional) can send their artwork that relates to the topic “challenges young people face in Europe”. The artwork can be of any type (digital, photography, painting, collage, sketch, etc), as long as it can be shared with EYCA in a digital format and can be reproduced as a still image.
- The purpose is to find three pieces of art that will be reproduced on postcards. As such, the dimension of the artwork needs to be 10.3 x 14.5 cm (A6). The postcards are destined to be used in various local activities designed and implemented by young people, EYCA members, and anyone who wants to participate.
- No words should appear on the design. This is to ensure that it can be understood by everyone around Europe, irrespective of their language. The design should thus be understandable via artistic representation.
- By submitting an art piece to the competition, participants agree to the terms and conditions of the competition.
- The duration of the competition is outlined in the competition description. No participation beyond this timeline will be considered.
- Participation in the competition is free of charge.
- The participation in the competition cannot give rise to any legal claims or rights to compensation. Any legal action is excluded.
Winners and Prizes
- There will be three winners for this competition.
- The three winning art pieces will be printed on postcards. Each winner will receive 5 postcards with their printed design. In addition, the three winners will receive a voucher for 100 EUR for https://www.etsy.com/.
- Winners will be chosen according to a jury vote. Members of the Jury are the EYCA Youth Panel and staff from the EYCA office.
- Members of the jury are not allowed to enter the competition.
- Winners will be contacted by email. Should the winners not respond to EYCA’s messages within a timeframe of 7 days, EYCA reserves the right to select new winners based on the selection methods described above.
- The prizes are detailed in the competition publication. Under no condition will EYCA demand from the winner a payment fee. And under no condition will EYCA provide a cash transaction to the winners or any other participant.
- The prizes are not transferable.
Disqualification and Disclaimers
- Any inappropriate language and/or inappropriate content that promotes violence, and undermines human dignity and the basic rights and freedoms of others is not admissible.
- EYCA shall, at its sole discretion, determine whether or not each entry complies with the present conditions and reject entries it deems not compliant at any time, without notice.
- EYCA reserves the right to disqualify any entry considered not to have followed and respected the conditions outlined above without any claim for compensation. If a participant is found to have manipulated the competition in any way, EYCA reserves the right to eliminate such participant from the competition.
- Participants assume full responsibility for their entry.
- No responsibility will be taken for any damage caused to participants due to unforeseen circumstances caused by third parties.
- EYCA warns participants that the prizes could be subject to income tax in accordance with the winner’s national applicable law. In such cases, every financial, legal, tax or other obligation regarding the award shall be fully executed by the winner, and the winner is not entitled to claim any compensation from EYCA regarding the mentioned obligations.
- AI-generated content is not accepted. All submissions must be original and created by the participant.
- EYCA reserves the right to amend the publicised conditions or to cancel the competition, providing that amendment or cancellation is published in the same manner that the conditions of this competition are publicised.

- By submitting an entry to the competition, you are an inherent part of activities organised by the controller, for which the controller processes your personal data.

- The purpose of your data processing is to secure your participation in the competition and, in case you become a winner, also the provision of your award. Up to EYCA’s decision as to how winners are announced.
- Your personal data is processed on the grounds of your consent. You are providing your consent to participate in the competition by submitting an entry according to the competition guidelines, as required in the terms and conditions.
- EYCA is not entitled to provide your personal data to a third party.
- Your personal data will be stored since its collection as follows:
- The email addresses of the applicants will be deleted within a month following the close of the competition;
- After that time, other data only will be used in an anonymised or pseudonymised way;
- No personal data is ever transferred outside of the EU;
- Participants have the following rights, under the regulation of the applicable legislation:
- The right to withdraw consent with personal data processing; withdrawal of consent will not affect lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal;
- The right to request from the controller access to your personal data;
- The right to rectification of personal data;
- The right to the erasure of personal data;
- The right to restriction of processing;
- The right to object to the processing of personal data;
- The right to data portability;
- The right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority, which is this case is the Dutch Data Protection Authority (https://autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl/en/contact-dutch-dpa/contact-us);
- The provision of personal data is a requirement for participation in this competition.
