Museum of Polish Air Force in Kraków

The Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków is one of the largest aviation museums in Europe. Founded in 1963 on the grounds of the historic Rakowice‑Czyżyny airfield, it preserves more than 200 aircraft, including early aviation machines, World War I and interwar aircraft, as well as Cold War–era jets. Visitors can admire unique exhibits such as rare pre‑war Polish designs, World War II aircraft, jet fighters, helicopters, and a large collection of aero engines, uniforms and aviation equipment. Modern exhibition halls together with original military hangars create a distinctive atmosphere reflecting over a century of aviation history. The museum also hosts educational events, thematic exhibitions and the well‑known annual Aviation Picnic.
