The Sucania Association was founded in Cagliari in 1989 with the aim of promoting international cooperation activities, projects, and events with Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Its mission is to promote cultural exchange, diversity as a source of wealth, respect the dignity of all people, and overcome all forms of exploitation, colonialism, and welfarism, relying on the voluntary work of many people who are still involved today. The need to give greater substance to its commitment led to the decision to join the Fair Trade movement: in 1993, Sucania opened the first Bottega del Mondo in Cagliari and has since been promoting Fair Trade through information and awareness-raising activities on the relationships between the North and South of the world, on issues of social and environmental sustainability, and critical consumption, through the promotion of cultural events and activities aimed at schools. Sucania's Bottega del Mondo, located at Corso Vittorio Emanuele no. 181 is the retail outlet for food and artisan products from farmers' and artisans' cooperatives in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, as well as Italian social cooperatives in the Fair Trade network. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 am - 1:00 pm / 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm The shop, which serves as a meeting place for sharing issues and values related to a sustainable lifestyle, also hosts meetings, information campaigns, and events on biodiversity, local production, and human rights. We are open to welcoming new volunteers and launching initiatives with schools of all levels, including targeted training programs and university internships.
