Galerie výtvarného umění v Havlíčkově Brodě

Havlickuv Brod gallery

EYCA card holders can enjoy discounted admission (50%) to the permanent exhibition and exhibitions in the gallery. The Gallery of Fine Arts in Havlíčkův Brod occupies a specific place in the network of Czech galleries, as it is the only one in the Czech Republic to specialise in modern Czech book illustration, drawing and graphics created after 1918. The gallery is housed in a historic 14th century townhouse, which preserves many interesting Gothic, Renaissance and Classical architectural elements. The gallery's collections contain over 7,000 works of art. Graphics and illustrations by Cyril Bouda, Adolf Hoffmeister, Emil Filla, Ota Janeček, Kamil Lhoták, Jaroslav Panuška, Bohuslav Reynek, Karel Svolinský, Jiří Trnka, Adolf Zábranský, Jan Zrzavý and many others are represented. On the first floor there is also the so-called Uhrov Altar with the sculpture of Calvary by Ignác Rohrbach.
