Youth ecosystems essentials: the role of European Youth Card in advancing ecosystems for youth empowerment

The recent Partial Agreement Seminar: ‘Youth ecosystems essentials: the role of European Youth Card in advancing ecosystems for youth empowerment´ in Montenegro, marked a significant step forward in addressing the evolving needs of young people across the continent. This event highlighted the crucial role of creating interconnected youth public spaces—known as youth ecosystems—that include accessible spaces, diverse services, skilled professionals, and supportive legal frameworks.

With most European countries having various elements of these ecosystems in place, the seminar underscored the growing necessity for a more integrated approach to designing youth-friendly environments and services.

A focal point of the seminar was the strategic role of the European Youth Card in enhancing these youth ecosystems. By linking young people directly with public authorities, service providers, and the private sector, the EYC facilitates access to essential services, promotes youth engagement, and encourages investment in youth infrastructure through its extensive network of benefits and discounts. The discussions aimed to foster synergies among public sector entities, EYC organizations, NGOs, and private companies to strengthen youth ecosystems, build robust partnerships, and explore practical ways to embed the European Youth Card into national and local youth initiatives.
