Are you going abroad as a European Solidarity Corps participant? Read on!
First of all, thank you for enrolling in the ESC programme! We're sure you'll have a wonderful time, and we're happy to help you make the most of it.
You should receive an email with your ESC European Youth Card soon after starting your service. Once your participation has been approved, you will receive all the information to retrieve your digital card through the Mobility Tool+ platform of the European Commission. In this email, you will find your EYCA number and the links to download the phone apps developed exclusively for ESC participants.
Your card will be valid for 18 months and can be used both at home and when travelling. Discover all the discounts available across Europe.
This is nothing but a small thank you from our side to all young people that contribute every day to a better society and a more united Europe through volunteering.
EYCA is committed to sustainable use of the European Youth Card
As part of EYCA's efforts to advance sustainability and our goal to reduce our plastic footprint, we have created an exclusive app that includes the digital card and allows you to see the discounts around you during your trip. The digital card replaces the traditional plastic card.
As of 2020, all special editions of the European Youth Card are issued in digital format. If you don't have a smartphone, don't worry, send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., and we will review your case.
You haven't received the Card yet?
If you’ve already started your volunteering but have not yet received your European Volunteer Card, no worries – there are a few simple steps you can take to get your card.
1. Make sure your organisation has registered you in the Mobility Tool+ or Beneficiary Module platforms.
The distribution process is implemented via Mobility Tool+ and Beneficiary Module. These platforms collect the data of every ESC participant, and it is via these platforms that the European Commission coordinates the distribution of the European Volunteer Card.
Please check with your organisation to confirm that they have indeed registered you on the relevant platform. If they haven’t registered you, this is the reason why you haven’t yet received your card. Only organisations can register their participants (not EYCA, not the European Commission, not the participants themselves directly).
2. Contact your National Agency regarding the status of card distribution.
National Agencies work with the European Commission to manage the European Solidarity Corps projects in the country. They are responsible for ensuring that hosting organisations provide the services to their ESC participants. They are also a contact point for addressing the issues of ESC volunteers.
If you have received confirmation that your organisation registered you to Mobility Tool+ or Beneficiary Module, you can contact your National Agency to check on the status of the card distribution. They can access the system and provide you with a confirmation that your card is on its way.
You can find the contact details of your National Agency here.
3. If you have been registered for several months and haven’t received your card, please contact us.
If you’ve received confirmation from your organisation that you were registered more than two months ago, and you’ve contacted your National Agency but they cannot help you, then please send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
In this email, please include the following (otherwise we won’t be able to help you):
- Your full name;
- Your PRN (personal registration number);
- A screenshot/document proving that you have been registered to Mobility Tool+ or Beneficiary Module;
- The start & end dates of your ESC volunteering;
- Any other information that could be relevant.
With this information, we will do our best to help you in receiving your European Volunteer Card.
