Museum in Brodnica - Chelminska Gate

Reduced ticket

The Chelminska Gate in Brodnica is an impressive Gothic structure built between 1310 and 1340 as part of the city’s medieval defenses. Around 1370, it was expanded to three storeys, and in 1898 its characteristic stepped gables, pinnacles, and wooden gate were restored. In the 19th century it served as a prison, and since 1973 it has housed the Museum in Brodnica — the Gate hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions, while an adjacent townhouse on the Small Market features additional displays.
