Niguliste muuseum

Niguliste Museum is an outstanding example of sacral architecture in Tallinn’s Old Town, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and offers a chance to see rare masterpieces of medieval art. The museum is located in St. Nicholas’ Church, founded in the 13th century, and is one of the few museums in Northern Europe that presents ecclesiastical art in its historical context. Highlights of the collection include late medieval altarpieces from Northern Germany and the Low Countries, as well as the famous “Dance of Death” by Bernt Notke from the late 15th century. The Silver Chamber is particularly noteworthy, displaying precious silverware from churches, guilds, and the Brotherhood of Blackheads.
