Its main attraction is the modern permanent exhibition “Gniew. A City on the Trail of Great History”, which uses archaeological artefacts, multimedia and reconstructions to illustrate the town’s development, everyday life through the centuries and the strategic importance of Gniew in regional trade and warfare. The guided tour route includes the castle chapel, defensive cloisters, the armoury and historical halls. Visits begin at the Gate House, which also hosts temporary exhibitions. The museum offers an engaging insight into the multilayered history of the castle — from its Teutonic origins to its later role as a Polish starosty.
