In the German Emigration Center Bremerhaven you can experience 300 years of European emigration. In the award-winning theme museum, you set off to a New World in 1888. The steamship "Lahn" awaits you at the quay. The quay, the cabins of emigrant ships from different eras, the immigration station "Ellis Island" - detailed re-creations allow you to visit important sites of transatlantic overseas emigration. Numerous media stations allow you to learn about the moving stories of real emigrants and their individual paths to foreign lands. And last but not least you can search for your own emigrated ancestors in the family research room or add your own migration story to our biography portal.
