The European Youth Card program in Andorra celebrates its 35th anniversary

The Carnet Jove Andorra is celebrating its 35th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in supporting young people in the country. Since its inception in 1988, the initiative has become an essential tool for Andorran youth, boasting over 9,900 active users.

Olalla Losada, President of the Carnet Jove Andorra Association, underlined the association's mission, stating, "For the past 35 years, the Carnet Jove has been a powerful communication and interaction tool for young people, providing them with numerous opportunities during this crucial stage of their lives." This anniversary is a reminder of the association's unwavering commitment to youth and its ability to foster strong community connections.

In 1989, the Carnet Jove became a European project by signing the Lisbon Protocol with the CECJ (the group of countries supporting young people before the creation of the European Youth Card Association). Manel Sánchez, Director of EYCA, emphasised the broader impact of the initiative: "Carnet Jove Andorra has made a remarkable impact not only nationally but also at the European level, serving as a model in promoting youth mobility and opportunities."

A shared success

 The collaborative efforts of numerous stakeholders, including Creand Crèdit Andorrà, the public administrations, and over 250 partner companies and organizations, have been instrumental in the success of Carnet Jove Andorra. Their support and participation have been crucial, and their contributions are deeply appreciated.

The trust and participation of young people who have utilised the card for its opportunities have also been instrumental. Each discount, activity, and opportunity provided has been pivotal in this 35-year journey.
